As a companion piece to my recent post here on liberal Quaker heresies, I wrote about my understanding of the Quaker Peace Testimony on my other blog that doesn’t presume knowledge of Quakerism. If you’d like to check it out, here it is: The Quaker Peace Testimony.

How do I know when my pursuit of justice becomes idolatrous?
When being ‘right ‘ matters more than anything else. When you get a sense of satisfaction from the thought of the justice that occurs (in whatever form that takes). When you fill as if YOU are the one handing out the form of justice, rather than seeing a wrong that needs correction or redirection and helping to make sure that that is what happens. When you look for injustice, seeking it out so that you can (again) be right and feel righteous anger and righteous need to make anyone ‘pay’ for whatever it is that they have done.
